My life in Modena (VI)

On Domenica, Maggio 22, people in Modena go on the street at night to celebrate the coming of summer, and the shops are closed at 3 AM. I never expected there were so many people in Modena, the feeling as if I am on the streets of Beijing or Shanghai. Here I experienced the molto bene gelato con fragola e pistachio.

Giro d'Italia 2016 Modena

On Maggio 18, 2016, I watched the start of stage 11 of Giro d'Italia 2016 Modena-Asolo. Piazza Rome, where the event was organized, was full of crowds, with exhibitors, merchants, audiences, policemen, tourists, and cyclists. Like swarming bees, the cyclists started like a gasp of wind in color, flashing away in seconds, what a view!

在火車上

在義大利乘火車出行非常方便，如果是短程城區火車，到車站自動售票機買張票就可以上車了，可是一定要記住在打票機上打上日期，否則可能會遭遇到二十倍票價的罰款。從摩登納到米蘭的火車只有兩小時，路上大概停五六個小站。我趕早上六點半的車，車上幾乎沒什麼人。

清晨潮濕的空氣，夾雜著野草的味道，瀰漫在金色的陽光裡，朦朦朧朧地罩在廣袤的田野上。紅色的虞美人不疏不密地點綴著周圍的綠色，沿著鐵軌綿延一路，偶爾會有黃色，紫色，白色的洋甘菊摻合進來。高過虞美人的是開著白花的黑槐，香氣沿著鐵軌飄了一路。這紅色和白色，加上遠處田野的綠色，流動起來，就像飄著的義大利的國旗。

火車停在瑞久艾蜜拉站，站台上有一家中國人在散步，還有兩個黑人男青年坐在台階上聊天。中國人是祖孫三人，爺爺坐在輪椅上，奶奶推著輪椅，看年紀有六十多歲；孫女大概六七歲，歡快地在爺爺周圍蹦來蹦去。他們穿著很樸素，大概是中國溫州來的新移民。不管什麼原因他們背井離鄉來到一個非常保守的國家，我都非常敬佩他們的勇敢和意志。

On the 5th weekend, I went to Pavia and Milan to look for Camillo Golgi and Milan cathedral. In Pavia, I saw Golgi's home but didn't find his tomb in the cemetery. In Milan, I climbed to the top of the cathedral in about 200 steps. I tried to speak Italian but confused with Spanish (Leche for Latte). Like the Italian movies in 1950s, the Milanian are cold and seldom smile, but their shopping street might be the most longest in the world (2km). Of course, it's a city full of tourists, all the time.
